As warehouse supervisor, Bruce's main job is to train new workers in warehouse work such as operating the forklift, to teach them safety measures and to keep up with warehouse inventory so that Colonial runs according to plan.
Bruce, who's been at Colonial for 13 years, says he had planned to retire, but when his neighbor, Colonial President Bill Kaneft, offered him a job, he took him up on his offer. "I'd be bored if I did nothing all day, and this is a lot more fun than bagging groceries," says Bruce. He says Colonial stands out as a business because they care about their customers. "We try our best to take care of our customers and they appreciate it." |

For 13 days, four times a year, Brenda and Judy package 2.5 million bags for Colonial Packaging.
The pair divides and organizes Tyson "ChickenSticks" bags into boxes that eventually make their way to area school cafeterias and onto students' lunch trays.
Brenda heard about the job through her husband, warehouse supervisor Bruce Barwick, and says that as a retired school teacher, she likes that the project gives her something to do. She and Judy have been working together for four years. |
