Jack, Jr. “Big Dad” (by his grandchildren) passed on to be with his Lord on September 11, 2022. He was blessed with 93 wonderful years. Dad joined me at Colonial Packaging, Inc. within a few months of our launch. It was the spring of 1987, and Dad was 57 years old. He had spent 35 years in the automobile business, the lion share of that time as the General Manager and Vice President of Central Chevrolet in Columbia.
His packaging sales career would be his “2nd mountain.” His work ethic was unmatched, his faith in God was clear, his willingness to serve was limitless, and his care, respect, and love for people was always consistent. He was a leader, a servant leader. In his first year, he circled the earth twice driving 55,000+ miles and was actually paid $0. Jack, Jr. trained everyone either directly or indirectly. His daily presence and consistency helped develop our identity and character.
Without Dad’s love, his unwavering loyalty to me personally and his incredible work ethic, the successful launch of Colonial would have taken much longer or worse, could have completely faltered. His life of sacrifice and commitment is remembered by us all. We will miss him.
